Rock City is THE experience in music education.

Students learn to play through individual lessons, coaching, and playing together in bands. By playing together in groups, students learn true musicianship, playing in tune, in time and in harmony. They also learn the advantages of teamwork and collaboration and how to create together. No doubt about it, if you are serious about playing music, Rock City is the school for you.

At Rock City we are not just about Rock. What about Musical Theatre? Wanna get your Jazz on? Feeling like getting Traditional? Going Country? Kids and adults can take part in individual and group instruction in a variety of instruments in almost any style of music.  But of course... if you just wanna ROCK Out, we're happy to oblige!

Youth Lessons 

Individual instruction will be based on a flexible curriculum that is tailored to each student’s needs. The focus will be on providing practical training, while teaching the technical and theoretical components of the instrument. Students will also be encouraged to play in a band setting, through their own initiative, their school band, or through programs offered by Rock City, School of Rock.

Instruction is offered in the following instruments:

• Drums
• Percussion
• Electric Guitar
• Acoustic Guitar
• Bass Guitar
•  Vocals
•  Piano
  

Individual lessons are once a week and available in half hour or one hour sessions. Instruction is provided in all areas of music including theory, practical applications, performance, and composing/song writing depending on the students' interest.

Each instructional studio is nicely equipped with a stereo, amplifiers (if required), music stands, a white board, a desk and chairs. The Drum studio is equipped with two drum sets, two practice pads, a snare drum station, and a drum machine. The vocal and keyboard studios are equipped with excellent quality keyboards. All students need to bring is their guitar/bass/drum sticks and books. Everything else is provided by the School!

The premise behind individual instruction is to bring the student, regardless of experience, to a skill level that prepares them for live performance. 

Adult Lessons

The adult student has special needs that differ greatly from the youth student. Rock City’s instructors are experienced and very comfortable teaching adults, keeping in mind the life demands that most adult students experience. Whether you are looking to brush up on your skills, or be the life of the kitchen party, we've got you covered!
