Group Guitar Lessons - All programs run for 10 weeks.
- All programs are offered for a fee of $150.00, $15/hr/student (covers all materials and instruction)
- All groups take place on Thursday evening.
- Maximum group size of 8 students
- Student must bring their own guitar
Adult Beginner Guitar GroupLearn to play the guitar in a fun environment with other adults. - Basic introduction to the guitar
- Everything taught is song-based, so you will learn to play songs almost right away
- Basic guitar chords, basic theory and strumming songs in a group environment
- Groups start with skill development and quickly turn to applying the skills to playing songs
Course Outline
- Major and minor chords in the basic keys
- Basic music theory
- Basic strumming patterns (4/4 & 3/4 )
- Playing in different time signatures (2/4 & 6/8 )
- Reading tablature (Tab)
- Basic finger picking
Adult Intermediate Guitar Group Polish your skills in a fun environment with other adults. - Serves as a continuation of Beginner program
- Reinforcement of basics of guitar
- Begin to explore various musical genres and techniques while remaining song-based
Basic Skill Requirement - Must know some basic chords
- Must be able to play basic strumming patterns
Course Outline
- Reading rhythm notation
- Learning various strumming patterns
- Playing in different time signatures
- Learn bar chords
- Basic finger picking patterns
- Power chords
- Tablature reading (reading tab)
- Basic guitar picking
- Playing melody lines on the guitar
- Transposing and using a capo
- Introduction to bar chords
Beginner Guitar Group for Youths - Basic introduction to the guitar
- Basic guitar theory and strumming songs in a group environment
- Groups start with basic skill development and quickly turn to applying the skills to playing songs
